Jack’s love of hunting and the outdoors comes honestly. His dad included him in raccoon hunting and pheasant hunting from early on in life. “I can remember walking along with my dad hunting raccoons and especially pheasants long before I could carry a firearm of any kind. Opening day of pheasant season was always ‘ours’, my dad’s and mine. We only missed it once after I could hunt, and that was due to inclement weather. That is why I still love hunting pheasants so much.”

Though pheasant hunting has been the primary highlight of the hunting season, he enjoys deer hunting every year, and has taken a number of deer with firearms and archery equipment. These deer have been taken in several states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Wyoming and Iowa. Hunting wild turkeys is now one of his major interests and areas of expertise. “I got this new interest through my son, Seth. He is almost fanatic about turkey hunting, to the point of establishing his own call company, Bully’s Wild Turkey Calls of Ravenna, MI.” (www.bullyswildgamecalls.com)

Jack has written about turkey and pheasant hunting. He is a writer for the Sportsmen’s Devotional. (www.sportsmensdevotional.com) and has written over 50 of these articles. The Sportsmen’s Devotionals are published via the internet and have a large, worldwide subscriber base. (www.sportsmensdevotional.com)
