Turkey Camp NE West 2012

Details:

I want to introduce to you Russ Tobey. He lives in North Platte, NE. He is full time with the Union Pacific Railroad, ranches part time, running cattle and owning property near Maxwell, very near the North Platte River. He owns and operates River Bottom Outfitters (http://www.riverbottomoutfitters.com/), and has guided turkey hunters many years now. Some of you who have been at the NE Big Buck Classic have met the Kreuters. They have referred hunters to Russ for years. He has hosted a video hunt that was featured on one of the Kreuter’s TV shows.

Russ wants to use the property that he normally uses for paid hunts to help us out and join us in our work of declaring the gospel through outdoor activities. He is making that land available to us for this hunt. Thanks Russ, that is amazing to us, and we are thankful.

Russ is a very talented and successful big game guide. His success rate for a while has been the average of 2 birds per hunter. Much of the land he is making available to us is in the Sand Hills of NE, north of I 80. He has also recruited some other land for us to use.

The Sand Hills are a different kind of place with lots of prairie, and what Russ calls “Tree Claims” spread around the prairie. Many of these have windmills or other water sources in them. Some are current homesteads for ranchers. Others have feed lots and wintering areas in them. These small acreages of trees are used by the birds for roosting, lazing around in mid day, and he says they constantly move from claim to claim throughout the day.

He will show us and teach the guides how to hunt in these environments. I am excited to take part in this hunt and to offer it to our guests and guides.

Don’t miss it! Register Early.

I wish to remind you that we furnish guides who are volunteers and do not receive pay. They will hunt with you as a friend. They have the option to carry a weapon and will always work very hard to get birds in front of you. They have licenses too, and may take a bird if the right opportunity presents itself.

Since costs have been rising, we need to adjust the Registration Fees for the camp. The fee will be $550 if received by March 15, 2012. After that the cost of the camp will go to $600. We need one half the fee at registration and the final payment is due on arribal at Camp. Families may discount their registration fees by $50 per person at registration. You may pay the full balance at any time. Checks should be made payable to FCS+ and sent to the office address. You may use Paypal using the fcsplus@sio.midco.net email as the receiving Account.
